The Heart has long been recognized across cultures as being a symbol for love, charity, joy and compassion. But when it comes to jewelry, some women adore hearts, others not so much!
But as Valentines's Day approaches, I thought I'd add some heart jewelry to our website just to make it easy for the heart-lovers among us.

Iconic, Elizabeth Taylor, certainly had it....a passion for stunning, unique jewlery and gemstones. Her often-seen "everyday" ring held a 33 carat, D color, potentially internally flawless diamond (upper left). All the awesome pieces pictured above were gifts from, "the true love of her life", Richard Burton. The three stacking diamond rings (lower right) were a a gift from him for winning a game of ping-pong, circa 1970! And these are just a fraction of her vast, exquisite collection!
Liz Taylor's December 2011 auction was covered by the media repeatedly for days. But, for many of us, it came in the midst of the busy holiday season. So now that life has possibly slowed for you some, I thought you might like to view more of her amazing gems.
I've included two videos: the first one is a short tribute and takes but a couple minutes to view.

While not jewelry, these works of art are a truly amazing example of extrordinary mechanical craftsmanship and jeweled beauty circa 1820. Up for auction at Christie's Hong Kong on May 30, 2011, they reportedly sold for $5,866,499!

While the name Leon Minassian and his company, Minasyani, is less recognizable than Judith Ripka, Leon has his own interesting story. Born into a family of jewelers dating back over 100 years, Leon has spent his entire life in the jewelry industry. What began at the age of twelve as after-school tinkering behind his uncle’s jewelry bench has become a lifelong passion and the inspiration behind Minasyani.
We have chosen, specifically, to feature his Clover Collection. Here’s the story behind it. According to legend, Eve carried a four-leaf clover from the Garden of Eden. Only one in every 10,000 clovers has four leaves. The legend continues: one leaf is for Faith, the second for Hope, the third for Love, and the fourth for Luck. From this basic shape and the symbolism behind it, the unique sterling silver collection evolved. Pieces start at $130.

Hong Kong....think vertical! Extreme high-rise architecture is the norm.
It’s abuzz with activity…intense everywhere…pedestrian traffic, shopping, new construction, more shopping, nightlife, public transportation, still more intense shopping.
The registration lines on the first day of the jewelry show....never-ending with not enough air-conditioning!

Bamboo scaffolding is everywhere…to anyone trying, unsuccessfully, to remove this invasive, perhaps you could rethink its uses! (Yes, bamboo grows in the U.S., even in PA.)
Shopping appears to be a favorite pastime...any day, anytime, all the time! We observed a true passion for the high end designers. Just to name one, you could easily visit the 7 Louis Vuitton stores in an afternoon. (Las Vegas has 5 stores, Manhattan 2.)
Harbors full of “stuff”…shipping cargo freighters piled high, one next to another, next to another on and on and on disappearing into the fog.
